Discreet + removable
Clear aligners
Transparent, removable trays gradually align teeth and correct selected bite problems. Go Orthodontics uses leading systems including Spark, Angel Aligners and Invisalign.
- Nearly invisible and removable for eating, brushing, sport and events
- Usually requires around 22 hours of wear each day
- Digital monitoring may reduce unnecessary in-clinic visits
- Excellent for many cases, but not the best tool for every problem

Versatile + precise
Metal braces
The gold standard for controlled tooth movement and bite correction. Modern brackets and wires are smaller, more comfortable and highly effective across a wide range of complexity.
- Reliable for simple through to complex treatment
- Works continuously without relying on tray wear
- Custom positioning allows highly precise movement
- Suitable from early treatment through to adulthood

Subtle + fixed
Clear ceramic braces
Tooth-coloured or clear brackets provide the control of fixed braces with a less visible appearance. They remain active around the clock.
- More discreet than conventional metal brackets
- Fixed in place, so no daily wear-time decisions
- Care is needed to minimise bracket breakage and staining
- Metal brackets may still be used on less visible back teeth

Early width correction
Orthodontic expanders
Rapid maxillary expanders are custom appliances used to treat narrow upper jaws and crossbites by gradually widening the maxilla during growth.
- Commonly considered for children around 8–10 years
- A small key activates the appliance as instructed
- Stays in place for eating and drinking
- Suitability depends on jaw maturity and the specific problem

Jaw relationship + growth timing
Growth modification
Custom functional appliances act on the jaws, muscles and teeth during growth to improve selected jaw and bite relationships.
- Timing is coordinated with the child’s growth pattern
- Commonly used around the pubertal growth spurt
- May be followed by braces to align and stabilise the bite
- Results remain subject to each patient’s biological limits

Not sure which option fits?
A consultation is about choosing the right tool—not selling a particular appliance.
Care through every stage
Start with the person—not the appliance.
Select an age group to see the common priorities and recommended timing.
Children
Detect important problems while growth can still help.
We recommend a first orthodontic assessment by around age 9. Most children do not need immediate treatment, but early review can identify crossbites, underbites, narrow jaws and eruption problems at the right time.
Teenagers
Comprehensive correction at a biologically useful time.
The teenage years are commonly when teeth alignment and bite problems are fully resolved. Growth can still assist selected corrections, while braces, clear braces and aligners provide different pathways to the same goal.
Adults
Discreet treatment designed around work and life.
Adults of any age can benefit from orthodontics. Treatment may improve appearance and bite function, or create the right tooth positions before implants, crowns and other restorative dental care.
Real treatment journeys
Smiles are the visible result. Function and stability are part of the plan.

Clinical outcomes vary between patients and do not guarantee a particular result.

Common questions
The essentials, all in one place.
Concise answers replace another layer of menu pages.
Do I need a dentist referral?
No. Dentist referrals are welcomed, but patients and parents can book directly.
What age should my child first be assessed?
Go Orthodontics recommends a first orthodontic consultation by around age 9, or earlier when a dentist identifies a concern.
Are clear aligners always better than braces?
No. Aligners offer excellent aesthetics and flexibility, while braces may provide more predictable control for some problems or patients.
Will I receive a full fee at the first visit?
Yes. The consultation includes a comprehensive quote for the recommended treatment pathway.
Can treatment start quickly?
Once you are ready, treatment can usually be scheduled promptly. Same-day starts may be available in selected situations.
Do you accept practitioner referrals?
Yes. Dentists can refer online, access the Go Orthodontics Problems Guide, request referral materials and use the dedicated clinician portal.
